A quick step by step walkthrough for people who wish to become a PHV driver in Singapore; hope it helps you :)

• Factors to maximizing your earnings:

• Working hours

• You work more hours, you earn more

• Try to cover the morning & evening peak hours to maximize your earnings

• Ride hailing APP choice / focusing on one APP

• The reason to focus on one APP is such that you can earn more by achieving the maximum incentives possible

• PHV driver strategies (more strategies in Guide: PHV driving strategies)

• Use the auto-accept booking functions

• Find your desired camping spots where you are able to keep receiving bookings one after another, with no lag time to maximize your earnings

• Familiarizing with / learning how to earn the maximum cash incentives from the ride hailing APP that you choose

• Setting your targets / how many rides per day to achieve or how much earnings per day to achieve

• Learn how to maintain your customer service rating / acceptance rate (by keeping the car clean and providing tissue, air refreshener etc. and good attitude with customer) because ratings may affect your APP incentives

• Peak hours, rainy day strategies, train delay, festive season/events strategies, knowing the festive seasons / specific days which the high demand surcharge fare pricing or customers demand will be high and to maximize your earnings for those days by working longer hours

Events during festive season (Halloween horror nights at USS every Thursday to Saturday night in October etc. You may want to circle near Sentosa area to wait for higher demand surcharge fare pricing)

• Getting the maximum petrol discount possible

• Bigger car may get you bigger app orders for higher fares

• Lowering your rental costs, choose the cheaper cars to rent, if you are renting a car

• Choosing a good value for money engine oil, workshop to service your car

• Avoid accidents, damage to your car

• Avoid fines, avoid flouting traffic rules or PDVL rules

• Improving your level of familiarization with the roads, lowering your chances of going on the wrong routes, reducing the lead time in finding the pickup point and hence, more time to receive more bookings and earn more.

• Improving your route correction confidence/skill and hence, when you miss a turn or take the wrong exit, it will reduce the time loss to reach the pickup point/destination and thus, more time to receive more bookings and earn more.

• Luck is also one important factor, sometimes you may earn more for a specific day due to receiving more bookings or bookings with higher demand surcharge prices (rainy days/peak hours), sometimes you get less or lower value bookings and earn slightly lesser.

Luck is also about meeting passengers that do not give you lower app ratings despite your good attitude such that you can achieve your maximum incentives possible

Luck is also sometimes about the luck to avoid accidents/damage to your car

Luck is also about receiving bookings that you are familiar with, during auto-accept, so that you reach your destination faster and more time to receive more bookings and earn more.
